Flyland Designs

Flyland DesignsBrian Allen of Flyland Designs is a freelance artist and creative director living in the State College / Bellefonte area in Pennsylvania, with his wife, Lesha and their two children, Michael and Isabella. He's most recently known for designing the new Philadelphia Flyers’ mascot, Gritty, who became a viral sensation overnight. Brian has somehow managed to work with many of the brands he knew growing up, such as Metallica, Hulk Hogan, and Activision.

Flyland Designs creates artwork in two very different styles: light and dark, which is an unusual mix. Brian genuinely enjoys illustrating fun, happy things as much as he enjoys designing dark, creepy things. The result of his work is generally a hybrid blend of both.

After graduating from Penn State University, Brian's first full-time job as an illustrator was for a motorcycle decal manufacturer called XGX Racing.

After that job, Brian got married and moved back to his hometown of State College, PA, to raise children and to work for Jostens Printing and Publishing as a book cover illustrator.

Eventually, he became a full-time artist and enjoys that crazy, stressful, exciting, rewarding, and challenging adventure.
